The sixth and final book in the addictive Woody Creek series from bestselling Australian author Joy Dettman

"an adept storyteller" Sydney Morning Herald

"a compulsive read" Sun-Herald

In The Tying of Threads, the final instalment of the beloved Woody Creek series, we return to the small timber town where it all began...

As the new millennium draws ever closer and Woody Creek struggles to survive, one thing becomes clear - in order to face their futures, Jenny and her daughters must first make peace with their pasts. If it's not too late.

Georgie Independent and spirited, Georgie is her mother's daughter through and through. But after a house fire takes the life of her sister, Margot, and burns her home to the ground, Georgie is lost. She flees town with nothing but a cardboard box and the determination to be somebody, anybody, else.

Cara After almost losing her adopted daughter, Cara's view of the world has radically shifted. She's decided that life is to be lived and love is to be cherished, even when that means crossing boundaries she'd never dreamed of. But is any love great enough to overcome and unimaginable burden of guilt and shame?

Jenny With her nest empty, Jenny is more lonely than ever. Rattling around her big old house with too much time to think, she's left to wonder should her secrets stay buried forever or will revealing the truth set her free?

Fans of Rosalie Ham's The Dressmaker will love Joy Dettman.

The Tying of Threads A Woody Creek Novel 6 edition by Joy Dettman Literature Fiction eBooks

Woody Creek, novel No 6:- I loved the way Joy Dettman tied these 6 novels together to end the series. Right from the 1st one (Pearl in a Cage) Joy wove the connecting families into "Baby Jenny's" life, telling of her hopes and ambitions as a small girl growing up and of the agony and shame of the Rape in the Cemetry by the McDonald twins. Her loves and her pure hate and the grind of rearing her children. The gut-wrenching moment she knew that her tiny son was stolen from her for ever. There was much sadness in her life but Jenny had an inner toughness that saw her through soo....many hard times. To understand her and her loves and losses you really need to read from novel No 1. Well done on a very lovely ending........leaves you with something to ponder!!!

really good author, Joy Dettman. Really takes you into the lives of all the people over generations.I would recommend reading all books.
Excellent was a very interwsting book
I am not a happy customer. I want to add another chapter to this fantastic book. The whole series is great but I don't like the ending.
Like many others I will miss Woody Creek, a great end to this series. This book tied off the characters beautifully. Not more to say really if you have read the other Woody Creek books this ties the ends and takes the characters to modern times .Thanks Joy Dettman
By now I am hooked. Not as good as the first couple of books in the series, but I now need to read them all.
At first I thought the writer had changed her style but I was gradually lured back into the town of Woody Creek. It was like visiting an old friend after a break of many years. This being the last in the series did well to give Amber her just desserts, lots of others getting what they deserved. I did like the way Jenny was able to nearly forgive her rapist.....it showed a slight softening of her character after all.
Joy Dettman has been ably to weave the words once again, and I'm sorry that I finished the story so quickly.
Another great read.
Loved the characters n grew to know them n love them through the whole series. A very addictive series that caused many a late night cause i just couldn't put it down! I now have to come back to the real world.
It just drew you in n you felt like you were part of their lives the whole way through.
If you want an addictive series then this is for you. TOTALLY worth the read from start to end. Highly recommend it!
